Release of 'Maitighar,' the first film made by the private sector. CP Lohani and famous Bollywood actress Mala Sinha had acted in this film directed by BS Thapa. Premdhoj Pradhan had debuted as a playback singer from this movie. Later, BS Thapa also made a Bollywood film called Laxmi on the same story, starring Raj Babbar and Reena Roy.
